Fonseka says plot to assassinate him

Defeated President Candidate General (retd.)Sarath Fonseka said today that there is a plot to assassinate him and said his freedom of movement ahs been restricted by hundreds of army guards who are outside the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel in Colombo where he is staying on.

Fonseka said that the men had attempted to enter the hotel to arrest him earlier today but were prevented from during so by the 30 security personnel assigned to him.

He alleged that the Deface Secretary has asked his security personnel to withdraw along with the bullet proof vehicles assigned to him as well as the three defenders and the motorbike squad.

“If I come to any harm, the President the Defence Secretary will be responsible,” Fonseka told journalists
