Malini won the Best Actress award for her role as the domineering matriarch,
"Sandhya Rani" in Prasanna Vithanage's critcally acclaimed movie Akasa Kusum
(Flowers of the Sky).
Malini has also been nominated for the Best Actress award at the Asia Pacific
Screen Awards for the same role.
